INNOCENT SOULS…

We that abode in castles far beyond poverty
We that feast upon the wealth of the poor
We that parade your streets in seductive automobiles
We that coat our virtuous skins with gaudy garments
We the innocent souls of the land!

We that impoverish the impoverished,
and enrich the enriched
We that build death traps,
and high ways to eternity
We that build colleges,
meant for advancing illiteracy
We the innocent souls of the land!

We the poor servants of the public
Serving the masses in reverse order
We the light-fingered solon
Harvesting the fruit of victory
We the custodian of public funds
From whose eyes your billions disappeared
We the innocent souls of the land!

We that never relent in making promises
Though we abide not by them
We that never relent in formulating policies
Though they be retrogressive
We that never relent in holding conferences
Though they be lees effective
We the innocent souls of the land!

We the patriots that shed the bloods of tyrants
We the saints that chastise sinners
Even when they sin not
We the law-abiding natives; guilty of all crimes
We the innocent souls of the land!

We that beg your vote every four-days
We the evidence of “true” democracy
We the poor servants of the public
We are the innocent souls of the land!

The Man Whose Religion Is No God…

What is the fate of that man without a god?
The man whose act we yet not forget
That man who stood though on angels side but;
Without a god
What shall we say of that man without a god?
The man whose word now our proverb
That man who said a lot but;
Made no orison

What is the fate of that man without a god?
The man whose bondage bought us freedom
That man who sold himself, dream and future
To redeem our land
What shall we say of that man without a god?
The man whose joy was to see us smile
That man who till death laboured
For us to savour

What is the fate of that man who
Climbed mountains; sailed oceans
Who restored our hopes
Thought us how never to lose it
Who delivered us his meal
Died of hunger
What is the fate of that good
Without a god?

What shall become of that man?
When he get to the sacred
Were forever be resolute
What shall become his good?
When pantheon resolute
Were for-evermore shall be
What shall become of him?
When to him the roll gets

What is the fate of that hero without a God?
